About this place
In the KAMAKURA period, HOUKYOU INTOU (Japanese pagoda) was built at many temples in Japan. These pagodas were built to store Sutra (Sutra are texts for Buddhists). In later years, they were built as memorial towers or tombs. This pagoda was donated by a man named TOKUSABUROU KUBO.
