About this place
Right under THOMI Mountain, there is a shrine in a cave by the ocean.
There is a story about this shrine. When a man from IORIGAWA, named MAGOZAEMON, was fishing, he found a box in the ocean. When he opened it, he found a statue of a golden Buddha. He was very happy to find it so he decided to bring it back to his house. During the night, he dreamed about the Buddha. In the dream, the Buddha said that he decided that the cave located just under THOMI Mountain should be his house. MAGOZAEMON told the villagers about his dream, so they built a shrine in the cave for the Buddha.
